Felpro make a product called 'brush tack' liquid gasket sealer.
put that on the deck surface followed by the plate, lastly the gasket.
Finally IMO one of the best tenners you can spend when doing
these kind of jobs is Snap On tool No FAM8E for your head bolts/
cos they NEVER slip or chew the hex and allow you to torque
the head down correctly.

i can't help thinking what a waste of time this is. Why not just use a cvh bottom end with std pistons?

That is one of the stupidest phrases banded about by people who haven't got a clue. If your goal is power, or torque for that matter, then on a turbo car you are limited by how much air u can flow, and strength. Using the std pistons out of a zetec means u are are going to break things v quickly with only 200hp.

remember your budget when it goes tits up and you have to do it all over again.......false economy my friend.

i would seriously seek the advice of a pro and take it from there.

rs turbos are not to be run on a tight budget let alone modified on one

they probably can be made to work with limited power. But, when the std cvh can do lots more power and be reliable...... thats what i cant grasp...

rick mate ,

already had the 1.8 motor in the garage , and 90 percent of the other bits needed bud ,

so far its set me back about 80 quid in bits and peices to get it where i can get it in the car and runnin ,

my cvh motors goosed ,

needs a full overhaul regrind shells rings pumps ect ect ,

looking at least 500 sheets to get that sorted ,

just need the car running ,

and when i get working again then , a propperly specced +built engine will follow ,

and seeing as im at the point now where its nearly done apart for a cpl little things ,

it will just have to go in and c how it does now wont it boys . !!!

howayyy the boro !!!
