As above check all breather pipes (No James, Im not stalking you're posts
),the main one I was always told to check is the pipe from the back of the rocker cover down to the sump.Regards Micky

A standard engine as said should stall, have you got a different breather set up? I've disconnected my breather system from the air box just to eliminate the whole engine as a potential air leak.

A standard car should stall as the fueling system requires a sealed system and you are basically introducing a massive air-leak.
If you have a modified breather system you can run a non-sealed system but the fueling needs adjusting to suit. My car is on MFi and doesn't stall if you remove the oil cap.
A Fiesta is EFi so I would imagine you could remove the oil cap without it stalling.

its totally standard even down to the air filter i was thinking along the lines of the breather system but then someone kept saying rings it has done 11600 miles but like i said is totally standard..... i aint brought it yet cao im tryin to find a good shell to reshell it into cos its rotten as a pear
I did have an RS i bought a long while back before i really knew anything and im sure the rings were gone cos it smoked like a bitch u could follow the trail of smoke and find me it was that bad, and that would run with the cap off. It was RAPID though
If your rings were gone i would think you would be seeing other symptoms like excessive breathing and smoking out of the exhaust.
