S2 RS Turbo Bonnet raise question
Its the catch at the front that goes into the slam panel, wiggle the whole bonnet round a bit with your hand on the release lever until it reaches.
Or if that doesnt work: on the catch on the bonnet, dab some tippex/white paint on the catch, drop it down and see where the paint ends up on the slam panel, thats where your problem is

Seriously RST bonnets lift by themselfs without messing about with them, make DOUBLE sure its closing properly, and the catch is locking properly and the cable is well lubricated and doesnt stick.

It's the spring bit on the bonnet that causes these problems...
They get so rusty they cannot be adjusted...oil and grease them and you'll be fine, oh and the bonnet cable stretches over time so may be as well to check this where the catch is under the column - Checked mine yesterday and its bent :s
Tiff, you need to adjust the spring on the bonnet to make it shut properly

@ Dan,basically I have a steel cable that attaches to the underside of the bonnet. Its connected to part of the strenghtening sections of the bonnet that the skin is welded too.The other end of the cable has a karabiner on which I attach to the lifting hook on the engine. The cable is about 18 inches long.So if the bonnet gatch fails the bonnet open about 18 inches max and no more.

Good idea though, worth while mod I should think!
i need one on mine...
i have had two bonnes fly up on me on mk4's... not pleasent
i always check the catch is closed before i slam her shut (my old cable had a kink that held the catch open), then i pull her upwards, just to double check... you can never be too careful!
i would go for pins, but i want to keep the standard look...
