@ Dan,basically I have a steel cable that attaches to the underside of the bonnet.Its connected to part of the strenghtening sections of the bonnet that the skin is welded too.The other end of the cable has a karabiner on which I attach to the lifting hook on the engine.The cable is about 18 inches long.So if the bonnet gatch fails the bonnet open about 18 inches max and no more.
