Default Greenlight Insurance - Driving other cars extension

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify the Driving other Cars extension:

Most of our underwriters include this benefit for drivers aged 25+

Cover is included under both comprehensive and Third Party policyholders, but purely covers the other vehicle that you are driving on a Third Party Only cover basis.

Some of our Underwriters exclude this cover for people working in the motor trade, or if you have a limited mileage policy.

For example, an underwriter is not always going to give a limited mileage concession to reflect the reduced road exposure for the car they Insure, then allow an unlimited (untrackable) amount of miles under any other car using the Driving Other Cars extension.

These are the only real exclusions.

The prior post that I had highlighted was in relation to Norwich Union's press release - not about greenlight.

If you are unsure, or need this benefit i'll happily check the policy of anyone we cover - just PM me.

In addition, if you need a quote or have had a quote and wish to check then either ask at the time of quotation, when you go ahead, or again PM me.

So.. to recap.. WE DO OFFER THE DRIVING OTHER CARS EXTENSION but there is a basic acceptance criteria for this.

Kind regards

Tony

Ps. I've been absent from the forum for a couple of weeks due to annual leave recently, but have answered all PMs and am back now.

Not seen any advert including this..

The new Direct Line advert says about acknowledging and crediting NCB to named drivers, but does not mention driving other cars for named drivers.

Guardian Royal exchange and London + Edinburgh used to offer this, but both of these companies were taken over some 7-8 years ago now and neither of these entities still exist.

As far as im aware, there is not a market that allows the inclusion of the driving other cars extension for named drivers.

We have been advised of a solution that does provide short term Insurance for anything from a single day to 30 days, which may be useful to get you out of trouble and can be arranged online at the following links:
