Paid £350 for the car, no tax or mot, it has rust on the chassis (holes) a hole on the sill and some other minor rust on the doors/fuel cap. Engine runs excellent and its f*ckin rapid compared to my 1.4i lol. Think i'm going to look for another 3 door mk5 and transfer the bits to build another rs. What do you guys think? I know ive bot a heap of junk, cant believe someone could let a genuine rs get into this state.

 

I know someone who's selling a 3dr gen rs2k shell and chassis are in good nick

 

I'm going to a friends garage at the weekend to get it up on the ramp to see exactly how bad it is, if it can be fixed without too much messing about then I would be happy to just restore the bodywork. I'm a very poor student so probly couldnt afford another gen rs shell, Cheers anyway mate.

cheap as chips, dont get a standard escort shell, make sure its a RS , i would restore the shell you got

 

Yes i would really like to restore this shell, its only the rear part of the chassis thats rotten, just found out that hadrian panels do replacement rear chassis for 70 odd quid a side, perhaps by the time i'm finished restoring it i'll be old enough to mibi start thinking about insurance lol. cheers m8

On the outside it looks not too bad, underneath is the dodgy bit, then thers the holes in the sills battery tray, floor etc.

Had a look at it up on the ramp today and its just too rusty (mechanics advise) Another 3 door shell and i'll just transplant all the bits. Was looking at a 1.3 3 door today but there was no sunroof so wouldnt be much good as a replica.
