enough for it to be dripping out of the air filter. and the bottom of the air box to have a puddle in it (front right hand corner of the air box). I am using shell 15w-40 (free from work!!!)

turbo oil seal i think, be careful not to suck the sump dry (oil slick, james bond style). Is it blue smoke?

sounds like there is a breather problem mate

the turbo sucks stuff in, not blowing it back out to the air box.

is the car modded - more boost etc?

and it hasnt got a breather system on it?

could be an idea to check all the breather pipes to make sure they aint
blocked in any way

i agree with pee-vee mine dumped the contents of the sump into the air filter and turbo put a baileys breather system on it not been a problem since...... it happens on modified cars due to more boost creating blow by on the rings..... standard breather is ok up to stage 1 as a rule but will give up eventually

Had this problem with mine before I fitted the breather system, now its fine. Also changed to 10-60 oil as reccomended by eddie at woodford, seems like the thinner oil is good for the engines when they are new but they are old now and need the different mixture.

Put a breather filter on(place it as high above the rocker cover in the engine bay as possible) and clean the boost hoses from the turbo to intercooler then drive the car for a few days and check the hose again for oil, if they are lined with oil your might be looking at turbo seals(if yor filter is really soak in oil then try get a new one or wash it if you have a cone filter as you will be fighting a loosing battle other wise) if not get a breather system and speak to woodford garage about oil for the car and you will get some valueble advice.

one feed should drain back in to he block on the turbo side, another should be linked to the breather pipe coming from the rocker cover, i think there needs to be another whole drilled in the rocker cover with a pipe tapped in to it which should be also link to the catch tank and the remainingg outlet should be to atmosphere(under the car if possible)

when i brought mine wads told not to use the rocker cover breather and just to blank it off i forget the reason why but it seems to work ok
i've neva seen 1 like that though mate i would hessitae a guess at the angled one being the *exhaust* were a little filter goes on mine this is on the bottom with a long pipe onit and a mini k&n fiter tied at the sidr of the gboxthen the top 2 are for 1 from the crank case *original breather* then the rocker cover and the last one the return to the sump hope this helps mate

Hi,
I have known the breather system non return valve on the inlet manifold to fail allowing the turbo to boost through the kidney box into the sump thus pressurising the crankase causing high oil consumption.
