every once in a while start car up and i have no rev counter ,ignition lights and no temp gauge.
then after five mins or so battery light comes on.
i have checked charging voltage and amp output all ok.
checked all the earthing points and general underbonnet wiring but seems ok.

If you've got nothing on your dash then I think the alternator aint your problem chap.....try checking out your ignition switch for a start and follow it on from there.
