how the hell do you fit anti roll bar to a 2wd cossy ive got 1 side in but cannot get the other in i even took out the bottom arm still no joy .i need advice here please
it's a fooking nightmare and i doubt very much if you can do it on your own, i used some rope, got 1 side in and then with the rope pulled the other side in as much as it would go ( couldn't quite get the threaded end thru the whole but got it nto the 'cup' area) then just used a hammer and lever to get it all the way home. can't remember if this was with it bolted to the chassis or if that was done afterwards though??

I do the same as DazC. I can do it now in 5 mins tops, on my own
Before I got the ratchet strap it used to involve getting two burly mates to come and help lol
Best Ł5 I ever spent mate!
Neil.

Wrap it round both sides of the bar so that when you tighten it up, it pulls the ends together. I'd get the big ones so you have a good strong ratchet that you can get lots of leverage onto.

I you leave the strut out of the hub on the side your not working on then it will go together as the tension is partially off the roll bar, then use a scaffy pole to push down the anti roll bar to refit the strut to hub, job done, done it loads of times that way..
the reason people have problems is they complete one side then can't do the last bit of the second side because it's all under tension!!
I will however say that I do now own some big straps..just in case
steve
take the tca's out first from the inner bolts where they are on the crossmember
if you put the arb into both tcas while they aren't bolted to the crossmember all you need to do is tie the ratchet strap to either end of the tca (where the arb pokes through because its got grip there) and then pull in both sides at the same time
also, as you are putting the bolts through the inner tca get a deep socket and a long extension, you can then lever the bolt with the extension to get it to line up and then twat the end of the extension to drive it home
once it's gone throug just a little you can always screw it all the way through as the threads tend to bind on the crossmember
you need to leave everything thing just that little bit loose on the arb and the inner tcas because the car needs to settle onto the ground, so wheels on and move it back and forth a little to get everything seated properly before you get underneath and tighten the bolts up nigth and tight
if you tighten them up before the cars on the deck you might find that you get funny squeaks or that the bushes get tensioned up in the air and then give you funy jiggles as you put them back on the ground

Stevie - that's fine if his struts have been out of the hubs recently
Do it the way dojj says - I forgot to say to fit the ARB to the TCA before fitting the TCA inner end to the crossmember
