Default The New Mot and performance exhausts

My Escort Cossie has had all the Catalytic Converters taken off and a full Mongoose system put on. Is it going to fail the new style MOT like this? Has anyone already experienced this? And are those Sport Cats that Graham Goode do any good, and will they connect to a Mongoose exhaust?

They can't let it slide now though, it's all linked to a central computer so surely they have no way of rigging it. I used to get round it like that too.

I ask because my 2000 Diesel Focus failed first time a few weeks ago, so it must be very strict now.

the gas test is not linked to the vosa computer system, the gas test has not changed , but your does still need a cat to pass

Rubbish, if the emssions are within spec, it will pass. It doesn't need to have a cat to achieve these.

The Freelander we have just passed it's MOT and it has no cat what-so-ever (I destroyed it from all the high speed driving ), and it is just an empty box at the moment . I just put it in to see what would happen, and it passed no problem....

Oh well, I'll give it a go Mike. It's not due for a few months anway, just thought I'd ask the question. PS Mike, I'll probably be coming to you for that AP 356mm brake conversion before too long, I'm also thinking about the 300mm rear conversion as well. Can you do me a super special deal if I buy both?
