Rubbish, if the emssions are within spec, it will pass. It doesn't need to have a cat to achieve these.
The Freelander we have just passed it's MOT and it has no cat what-so-ever (I destroyed it from all the high speed driving

), and it is just an empty box at the moment

. I just put it in to see what would happen, and it passed no problem....
