I personally think that poorly specced coil-obers are the worse thing you could add to ANY Cosworth. Ruins the ride quality.

when i bought my car, the previous owner said it is neccessary to modify the rear chassis, but said he hadnt doen it as he didnt wanna ruin the car
he described it as opening the rear turrets??
is this neccesary, i'm running AVO coilovers and the rear can seem a little creaky and squeaky at times
The only thing that you need to do is "modify" the nearside inner wing with a fuck-off big hammer
, as the spring always seems to rub this side (but not the other) on every single Cossie with coil-overs. This will be the creaking you can hear. If you look, you will see a shiney area worn away where the spring has been rubbing (and making the creaking noise). Hit this with big rubber hammer to "shape" it, and then grease the spring for good measure. Job done.

What would cause this ??
Worn bushes, faulty shock ??
Anyone got any ideas what this may be as the coilovers dont seem to have caught on the bodyshell anywhere
Cheers

Its weird because ive looked up at rear strutt and there is no sign of rubbing (only on the inside of the spring) ??
Ill check again though
Its the right hand side is that the correct side ?

Not on the body shell but on the spring itself...
The body of the shock is catching on the inside of the spring and there is no visable signs of it catching on the bodyshell itself

As Mike says, modification to the inner arch is required, and on mine it took quite a bit of persuading with a hammer. Just painted up and greased and all has been well sinse.
PS - Mine are AVO's.
