Default What the biggest

Hey

Whats the biggest brake set up you can have behind standard 15'' wheels...

I need decent enough stoppers, when my zetec turbo is finished..

Not looking to spend £500-£600

looking for £250-£300 to spend.....

Ive heard that 2wd drive cossie disks and standard calipers are good? Any suggestions?

Cheers people

I found that 283mm discs were the biggest you could get behind the standard 15" wheel. You may be able to get 300mm discs behind a motorsport 15" wheel though...

A Cossie set up will give you much better brakes and fit nicely behind your 15s

That was with modified 4x4 calipers with 1mm shims to space them inwards slightly and 2wd discs.

I'm running 2wd discs and the 4x4 callipers with the 1mm spacer washers.

Easy job.

Little money.

A man with no eyes could fit it too

2 w drive disc's plus brackets off Clint Gaskin (turbo sport £40) and keep your S2 calipers/ more power than 4X4 set up as the calipers sit right on the edge of the dics thereby more braking effort/use money saved to buy goodridges and (if you've got it) junk the whole 'abs' system.......then when you've got a bit more dough.
Brackets off Tony Pastie (zetec turbo £40) scorpio calipers and slider brackets off breaker (£25)(or new about £130) new discs Scorpio (£35 any motor factor) new pads (£25) M5 RS2000 handbrake cable (£30) break fluid
(£5/10) + one afternoon = car that stops just like a modern one!
Don't bother with Cos set up on the rear as you'll just keep swapping ends
as you hit anchors.

im pretty sure you could just fit the escort cosworth calipers and discs behind them, with a nice set of green stuff pads that will work so well!
