Turbo - strange sound
Hello All.
I have a problem and am not quite sure of now to deal with it. Hope you guys can help me out with some advices....here goes nothing.
When I floor it so the turbo reaches 1.6 bar od pressure (car is tunned to 300 hp by GrahamGoode so it produces 1.6 bar boost) and then release the accelerator pedal, blowoff valve releases the pressure and a strange sound comes out of the turbocharger like something would bumped a few times to something else. Sounds like metal to metal hit.
Turbo works fine, car works fine, the only thing is this strange noise
Has anyone have any idea of what could it be? I am prepared for the worse and willing to buy new turbo if necesary, but will not spend that much if nothing is wrong...
Please help as I and my mechanics have no idea what could it be

Thank you for a quick reply. I am a bit imberrest since my english is only good untill we come to cars
If I understand correctly you are asking if a turbocharger's main ....hm...how to put it, the part that holds two spinning parts together... has any air?
Actually I don't know. It seems strange because boost is exactly as it should be, and if the air or play as you said it would be present I should hear it two times, when turbo builds up and when it slows down, but I only hear this sound if turbo reaches full boost and then suddenly blowoff valve releases the pressure...
Again I am sorry for my english and again respect your tries to help me as I am desperate

How long have you owned the car for? has it just started doing this or have you changed something and then it made the noise? Id just check the shaft for any play, up and down and forwards and backwards. Take the intake hose off the turbo and try and wiggle the nut in the centre of the spinndle.
I have it for a few months and this started about two weeks ago.
Thank you for your reply.
I will try this and let you know what is happening.
In case this is the thing what can there be done? Can a turbine be fixed or do I have to purchase a new one?
