I want to check my head for cracks, do i realy have to take it off and send it to a head & bottom end company? Is there a way to check it without taken it of? Someone told me that if the water went back into the water container, then the head has a crack is that true??????

 

The only way to test for cracks is to remove the head and have it pressure tested at an engine remanufacturers....

The water always returns back to the header tank. It has to circulate to cool the engine..

Better get it off then, it seems like it uses some oil and water, but not intirely sure about it though

 

Sounds like it just needs a new headgasket

 

Thats what i thought, so i ran out and got a new one, wich is fittet now, but it still smoke a bit and smells a bit funny from the zorst to....

CVH heads don't seem to be that prone to cracking to be honest but it's always worth checking to make sure. Just because they are not that prone to cracks doesn't mean to saythat it isn't cracked!

 

Somehow i hope its the turbo, its way easyer to change and cost about the same to get hold of
