hope it's a stupid question.........my pal was talking to a "body builder" the other day and he said he was going into a comp and was going to drink WHISKEY the night before to cut weight.....WTF!!!.....i know alcohol is a dieretic but is he for real...???......cheers Pete

 

Alcahaol dehydrates you, so if taken before the night of a competition it dries you out, so to speak. Dorian yates used to have a red wine. Ronnie Coleman was on tour with other bodybuilders and kept getting placed 4th and 5th etc, and couldn't beleive how 'ripped' Kevin Levrone was. He asked Kevin how the hell he was doing it? Kevin gave him a black coffee with a vodka before bed, and the next day he won the competition.

If drinking alcohol cuts weight I should be a skeleton.

 

I've also heard of people having a snicker before going on stage, Kieron, so we should both be ripped to bits. If we combine the two, we could take on the Olympia.
