Well i didnt get in the shape i wanted in time for Nabba Scotland comp, BUT i am still busting my ass 6 days per week.

I Dropped down to 13stone and was about 5 days away from the comp when i lost the plot, Mentaly the lack of carbs/water and amount of things i take, my head ended so far up my ass that i wasnt a very nice person to be around and the side effects like Chronic headaches,Insomnia and the fact i was pysco looney at the slightest thing was killing me so i had no choice to back down and pull out of the comp.

Mentaly i was away with it and if i didnt back off how hard i was training and back of with what i was taking id prob have lost my family and job.

Bodybuilding is so hard and getting to competition level is unreal, i was so bloody close and WILL get on stage at some point.

I dropped to 13 stone from over 18 stone so it can be done but fcuk me its been hard.

These pics are from about 4/5 weeks out from the comp, i dropped almost a stone after these were taken.

Im back eating BIG again and plenty carbs, plans are too Grow like a bitch the until Dec and the give myself alot more time to cut down for next years show.

I should be twice the size going into next year, Cant Wait.

looking at this pic, i am stil a VERY Happy Guy lol.

Brad

Awesome work and shame about pulling out but it happens sooo much with people underestimating what can happen mentally when preparing for shows just as exactly as you described

I feel for you m8 that you never got to go BUT im happy you made the right decision to save your family life as ALOT of guys dont and push it and end up showing but are left on theyre own afterwards

As said you WILL step on stage and ffs youve only been training 2 years so got plenty time for it still.Im really looking forward to further updates later on in year to see what size you can get to then seeing you again this time next year nice, lean and cut to shreds

Take my hat off to you for the awesome work already achieved m8

However you look at it thats an awesome acheivement.

Its a relief to know that you were able to see what it was doing to you and your family and you made the right choice. Lots of others can't see and risk losing it all. Hats off to you.

I'm interested in knowing how things started off in Jan 2007.

- What sort of diet were you on to shed the unwanted weight??
- Did you concentrate on cardio work in the gym?? Is this the best way to shed weight??

Hope you dont mind the questions mate, just good to talk to someone thats obviously made serious progress.

Cheers,
Grant

My first year i didnt pretty much NO Cradio, i just ate good and did weights and the fat fell off me.

For the first year my diet was ok but i was in such bad shape any slight improvement in what i ate would have worked as i was eating so bad.

From memory the first year i didnt worry too much about high protein meals, i just cut out all the shit i was eating like chocolate and fizzy juice.

Breakfast was Bowl of special K in skimmed milk. morning snack was chicken in Granary bread, lunch was similar and afternoon snack was a protein shake.

For tea i used to have a steak with rice or chicken and rice, bt i did change the rice out for the likes of baked potatoe/pasta etc when i got bored.

The key to getting started is DONT dive in too fast, take your time and dont expect a miricle over night. No Matter what i ALWAYS have a Chinky/PIZZA or Similar on a Sat night, its a cheat meal and does no harm.It speeds up your matoblobism and you Gain well from it.

It also gives u summit to look foward too during the week when dieting.

It was only when i got down to around 16 stone that i started doing 20misn Cardio after my weights and i still do the same.

Its VERY Important that before you do cardio make sure u aint had any carbs as u will burn them before fat, fasted Cardio on a an empty stomach gives best results.
