Default Upper body strength

How do I improve it?

Also, I did at 1.5mile run in just under 16mins... I need to get to the 12 minute mark...
any tips how to improve this or ways to breakdown the 1.5... I prefer running on my own so I run at my own pace, but does it help having someone with you?

should easy be able to get the running down if its on road 16 mins to run a mile and a half carb yourself up a few hours before so you have lots of energy and the times should come down. Also the more you run the better you become so be patient. As for upperbody strength more weight more often try dips pull ups and press ups daily

on road... / hills/ footpaths/ tarmac.

Not the same on a treadmill.. I can run contently on a treadmill for around 20mins aslong I have Neighbours on to keep me occupied as the treadmills at the gym have tv screens...lol.

You dont need to project your body on a treadmill either so its harder work outside.
