Is one rest day enough?
what ive been doing is using my dumb bells one day then having the next day off then using them................. so basically im using my dumbells every other day, is one day long enough for my muscles to rest and re-build or whatever you call it?
when i use them its normally for at least 30mins sometimes 45mins, basically until my arms etc are tired

From personal experiance and from the research I've done, it would seem:-
A weeks rest is recommended after targeting a specific muscle group, in order to maximise muscle growth.
Ultimatley it all depends on your goals and what you are aiming to achieve.

I agree with Gay GED
Also if your trying for size your obviously not breaking the muscles down enough if you can train them two days after as that is the day when your muscles are properly done in. You know your in trouble if you feel it the next day!

I agree your pissing in the wind at the mo mate! need a more veriaty of muscle work outs other than just dumbells on the arms or what ever, you wanna try and work every muscle group in different routines otherwise you will end up lookin like popeye!!!!!haha
forget doing dumbell exercises at the mo, concentrate on heavy barbell work and compound lifts (deadlift, squat, benchpress, military press, barbell curls) if you wanna gain size, try and have 2 days rest in between workouts.
Dont just work till your tired, use a heavy weight so u can only perform around 32 reps in total ( 4 sets of 8 reps) and try to stay in the 6-10 rep range.
PS: WORK THE LEGS!!! dont neglect them, by working your legs you will increase overall body mass, including your UPPER BODY!!!
