Help: mk5 Fiesta Zetec S. 1.6 to 1.7 Puma swap?
Hey folks. I need some info on an engine swap for my 2001 Zetec S.
I want to put a standard 1.7 Zetec SE 125bhp motor in the Fester.
I know the conversions been done before loads of times, but I need to know if its a straight swap or if I need the Puma ECU, inlets, mass airflow meter blah blah etc? Do all the plugs/earths go in the same places?
I bought the car with a nasty bottom end rattle, and eventually it smashed a rod through the case and bent a valve. I've kept all the bits off the old motor in case it needs them (coil pack, flywheel, starter etc)
Any links or knowhow would be great, Cheers

Should think a remap should suffice, as the Puma will be EEC, if not the exact same model.
You may need a MAF if it requires one as some 1600's have them and some don't for example your one at the moment most likely has a Tmap where as I believe the earlier phase 1 had a MAF.
The coil pack will certainly be ok as I think there are only a few variations, starter should be ok as well, flywheel should fit but not sure if it will be a different weight?
