Default Fiesta Supersport lovers

Someone has posted this on our website for anyone looking at buying a Fiesta Supersport. There might be a genuine reason for the change in colour but when a car has been stood in a field for years (red in colour) and then suddenly appears as (white in colour) and dry stored for years means you have to be careful.

http://forums.nottingham-rsoc.co.uk/...php?f=1&t=3246

The price might reflect the strange history but questions would need to be answered.

I saw this on a mk1 forum. The white car look to be in really good condition. I like the car regardless of wheather a re-shell or restoration and colour change, but I wouldnt part with my money unless I knew the full story.

Maybe the seller should be more honest about maybe a re-shell or the change of colour. Still a nice car.

Ever considered that the white one might be the original and the red one is a different car on a clone plate?

As it is on record as being white and not taxed in 11 years.

Why re-shell a supersport into another supersport shell and transfer the reg? It's the only explanation for the DVLA info.

well if the red pic was taken in 04 an colour change in 06 then i spose its feesable, but i would expect the paint to be as new still if its been dry stored and not as mentioned in ad, also why would you not mention a resto as surely that can only be a good thing, shame coz thats a crackin lil car

I know for a genuine White one of these should anyone be interested?was going to put it up for sale on here before but people were being arsey as I had my own business.it's in White,Supersport logbook etc, solid but needs a resto paintwise.

I know the guy who bought it would probably take a drink on it but I'm not prepared to reveal how much he paid etc, that's between you and him,I'll only be giving a mobile number out, none of this middleman shit!!!!

The seller has now updated his E Bay add to say the car has been re-shelled. It could be a honest sale with the seller finding out things about his car that he never knew.

So it's now clear it's a ringer and probably not even a supersport, and people are still bidding good money

Very nice little car, and a great base to use on track (Not suitale for road use obviously) but not worth the £1700 current bid.

Sorry to rant but this kind of thing winds me up as it seems some people still don't realise that "Transfering the ID" of one car onto another is illegal.

If it is a re shell it's looks like it's been done into a supersport shell as it's got the bulge on the rear panel for the spare wheel,I think only supersports came with this.

yh thats true but even if it is a supersport shell its still a ringer as its on the same i.d, i looked into this a couple of months ago when i see a cheap escos on gti i.d, plus that aint a brand new shell so if its a supersport shell why use the old i.d? that just says to me its a stolen one on the others i.d

those panels are readily available and i'm 100% sure the xr2's had the same bulge to accomodate the spare wheel

xr2's had teh bulge but ss's has skinny bumpers, easy to tell which is which

obv a ringer but could be reasonnable why, lost v5, lost tags while reto or kids fucked with the car
coudl be a million reasons but either way if it was cheaper 1 would buy it, let it live, nobody is saying their cars gone missing, go view see the engine number and if it doesnt mate the chassis ask the old bill if its wanted, if it is stripe it up (will get the crush tho!!) if its not no worries

I was going to buy mint supersport a few years ago and the guy who was selling it had two and was well know with in the supersport gang, it was him who told me about the bulge,it's to give more space for the spare wheel which must have been bigger on the supersport, xr2s may have it too. still seams a dodgy car and looks like a ringer but some one will buy it.
