Default Changing wheel studs

I have a Mk 6 Ford Fiesta Zetec S.

It's been dropped and now the wheels look too inset and I don't like it. I've looked into spacers and ideally I'd like to put 20mm spacers on the back and 12mm spacers on the front. The issue I have is that my current studs are not long enough to support this. I've found packs of studs but I don't know how to change them. Front and back. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Would xr2i studs fit? I know they were longer than standard. And I don't see why they are not the same fit

It's not the fit that's the issue. I don't know how to take out the old studs to replace them

You gotta hit em dead on because they're put in from the back iirc. Be best taking the whole hub off tho

Edited to say, I remember having to get the angle grinder on the backs of the studs coz they were solid. But once out straight in with new ones

Take wheel off, undo caliper think its just 2 bolts, use a bungee cord to hold it up on spring. Undo main drive shaft bolt in the centre of the hub. Then undo wish bone (can be fiddley) 2 bolts that hold it to the shocker, then a gentle tap with a nylon hammer to get it off the shocker and its free!!!

Its been a long while since I did it tho, but that's the jist of it

Forgot to mention taking the disc off.

Rears you need to take the drum off undo the big centre nut, and it should work free and the studs will be inside the drum that you remove.

Note that I think it's the rear passenger hub nut that is a left hand thread!!!!! So check

Problem with this is, to change the studs you need to take the drive flange out of the bearings, to do this you need a press, and when pressing the flange out more often than not the bearing breaks up so needs replacing (these have magnets inside the seals on the bearings for the ABS) and must be fitted the right way round or the ABS doesn't pick up the wheel speed signals. Rears are easier as just need the drums taking off.

Spacers that wide will feck up the steering geometry and give poor location to centralise the wheels on the hub, if not hub-centric spacers. - ebay link hubcentrics - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Hubce...item4604406659

drive flange -

edit - I'm pretty sure the studs won't come out without taking off the hub and removing the flange, but by all means have a go before raking it all off!!

What about 15mm at the back and 10mm at the front?

Nah, the later ones are both same handed thread. 30mm socket

Replace the caps so they don't let water in.

You can get hub centric spacers. They're like the ones to change the stud patern. But you'll still be running wider and you'll probs eat a lot of wheel bearings.

Could you get wider wheel?

No, I like the wheels I have. Any links to where I can get these spacers?
