Default Engine Conversions

More of just a discussion as i dnt really hav the money to fund such a conversion at the mo....

Wot do u think the pro's and cons of the following conversions (Fiesta mk2) wud be:

1. Fiesta turbo
2. Escort Turbo
3. 1.8 16v Zetec
4. 2.0 16v Zetec
5. Any other options...

Which wud be easiest?? how hard to source the parts?? most power potential?? reliability?? etc etc

Jus after sum ideas i may have to pay a visit to Mr. Bank Manager

out of the escort and fizzy, i would say the fiesta engine, reason being that there is no air flow meter to arse around with, and the fiesta runs electronic fuel injection.

out of the 2.0 and 1.8 zetecs, it has got to be the 2.0, larger capacity more torque

but out of the lot for a straight engine drop for the xr2 i would say go for the zetec a shit load of torque for a small light car, it would be fast!

1. Fiesta turbo - Not too hard good power, easy future power hikes
2. Escort Turbo - Tight squeeze for all the bits but good grunt
3. 1.8 16v Zetec - Good revy engine with no turbo complications
4. 2.0 16v Zetec - As above but with some extra ponies (my choice)
5. Any other options... - RS2k engine

Go for something special: RS1600i or XR3i MFI:

Zetec is not good if you want power. Throw in a standard RST with little mods or a real monster with a 2.0 Zetec Turbo. But forget that WeberMarelli-crap. There are better, cheaper an less thirstier ignition/injection systems available

Fisrt thing before undertaking this you must call your insurance company. There is no point building a car that you then can't insure. You may find it cheaper and more beneficial to just sell up and buy a Fiesta RS Turbo

Noo!! Thats a very silly thing to do in my eyes.. suppose u knock someone down and kill them without insurance?? Thats a prison sentence

I'd rather pay the extra few hundred quid and hav piece of mind when i'm driving around
