hi what is the limit on a standard frst piston ? i want around 250 - 270 bhp . i have steel rods . will standar pistons be up to the job ?

 

if you are going to extent of putting rods in there ect and you to achieve those figures you will be running between 15-20 psi of boost which i just wouldnt bother doing on standard pistons.

I wouldn't I use JE pistons and I only run up to 14 psi! giving about 185 bhp I will run NOS later this year! taking it up to about 225.

Many moons ago I burnt a hole in no. 3 as it ran a bit lean (injector partially blocked) and it did it surprisingly quickly!

now I am far more careful!

 

I believe Christian Majors first 300bhp CVH engine ran OE skimmed pistons and steel rods.

 

i thought he ran standard rods ??
