Default fiesta turbo ecu enquiry.......................

Just a quick question my m8 has a std fiesta turbo that he will soon be lookin to up grade on the power side of things.

thing is hes been offerd a chipped ofab ecu how ever his is ofac are these a direct replacement or will the map sensor be required as well or will the configuration or the harness plug not mate up with the ofab ecu any opinions greatly apreciated.

better off to buy the correct chip for your ecu, the chip plugs in the bottom of the ecu anyway, there not soldered like an escort.
I think the ofac & ofab have different crank sensors aswell as the map sensor.

It would be less hassle getting the correct chip for your ecu and map sensor......you will have to have it tuned aswell!!!! otherwise BANG....the fueling will be all over the place...I got my chip fitted at P.T.S they cleaned my ecu connections and did a top job!!!! My car is 180bhp 191lb/ft torque @12 psi...With a T3 tho.

Well yeah it has, i said my mate had a std fiesta turbo i never said he had the car did i
its the std engine bay layout and engine but its in a 88 xr3i shell hence its some times no good asking the ppl in the escort rs turbo forum as technically they should'nt know as much as you ppl
See the thing is me m8 bought the car with this engine in already and i aint had much dealings with the efi side of things as yet but i can build zvh engines hence the curiousty to do a 2.0 zvh in a fezzy turbo and we will get a hybrid t3 to go with it too.
i've seen it done in a mag and that gave me the idea but after getting offerd a chipped ofab ecu for bott-all i thought this was to good to be true and it was.

so by the looks of things we got to go looking for a chipped ofac ecu and bigger map sensor or gett'm new

I believe you are talking through your rectum gasket, in your 1st post you said your mate had a std frst & wanted to get more power, why didnt you just say it was a hybrid car? Would have made more sense.
A second hand OFAB ecu is worth about £100, a cps is about £20 & you still need a map sensor & bracket & to modify the wiring. Why not sell the ofab chip you have & with the money you have from that & the money you will save from not buying the other parts you could easily afford a ofac chip. Makes a bit more sense.

Ok ppl i'll tell it straight
the reason i never said that my m8 had hybrid car is down to a little problem we had a few years back on the rs owners club stand as back then HE had a fezzy turbo powerd 1600e orion and wanted to know a few things about how to tune it up sensible like...........................
only to be met by the lecture of a life time off 2 of the owners for BUTCHERING a perfectly good fiesta turbo for his so put "piece of shit car" and was politly told to go away and jerk his movments
See the thing was we told them that the car the engine came from was a back end smash stolen recoverd vehicle but that didnt seem to matter apparently!!!!!!!!
the fact that he wasnt a genuine rs owner ment he would get the cold shoulder and no info given to help him out, and this has happend on more than one occasion

also the reason this post has also gone pair shaped is because i'm putting input for 2ppl at the same time and thats why theres a few conflicting points made

So it is me m8s car an escort with a std bhp fezzy turbo set up but i've been given the car to put a 2.0 zvh engine into along with a few other goodies to help it along but at the same time under instruction to try and use this ecu we have been offerd even though we cant or we can but it will become the biggest pain in the arse ever and cost a fortune as we have to swap most stuff to get it to graft
and unfortunatly we cant sell it as we were only offerd it from another 3rd party who said we can have the ecu but if its no good he wants it back as he knows what its worth

so it looks like its going to be a 2.0 only running 8 psi which as far as i care is plenty in a escort other wise it will become undriveable as an everyday car but still retain good drive ablity

so any opinions on this now i've set the record straight
