zvh turbo build
hi ive got a mk5 fiesta with a 1.8 xr2i lump in it ans its been suggested to me to try a zvh build and im interested in this but at what cost would this run? 2k??? or more?
i wouldnt want to take the work load on myself so i would be looking for some1 or a garage to do this if any1 can suggest a few places or ppl that can build these that might be interested?
im also running the 1.8 off a 1.3 ka gearbox so i know this would have to be changed but what gearbox could i change to cope with this power that still fits easily into my mk5

lol na mate not looking to go slower its just something thats been suggested to me and ive had a look around and they make fairly decent power or am i wrong in this?
it was suggested as something different instead of a zetec turbo make a zvh.
if u got ideas mate im interested as things wont take place till next spring as this winter all the outside of my car is getting a overhaul.
but im definatly going turbo with my car.

Its all about what you want mate, ive gone all steel zvh, was considering the 16v option but it was just not worth in for what I wanted. The amount of space I would of lost in the engine bay and messing about with inlets and customs part meant it was too expensive. A really good benifit with the zvh is that you basically end up with an engine with the same setup as standard, the engine bay is pretty much stock looking apart from the oil filter location, meaning its no harder to work on. Speak to Simon at sitec racing, he is helping me out a lot with my build, he has been making stupid zvh's for some time now.
Dont get me wrong the above comments are very true, the 16v head is brill and in standard for with standard cams can easily flock 300bhp+, but I fell its a bit over kill for the hastle involved unless you are happy to do that. zvh cheap with great power and torque. 16v quite a bit more expensive, more hastle, lots more power & potential
decisions decisions
Chris @ powerconversions is another zvh guru who may be able to offer advise
hope this helps

thanks for the reply i am interested in the zvh build as like u say it is a smaller build so is easier to work on to be honest i could get most of the work done at work in out tooling area as for the drilling and tapping of things but i would rather pay some1 who knows what they are doing i would want 200+ bhp otherwise i could just cam my 16v an put throttle bodies on it but i want a turbo engine and this seams the most likly route for me as it will be well looked after so im not planning on having to have it rebuild every 12 months
