Get a 2.0 (try not to get a 2.1 if poss) a company called PEC are selling a steel rods & forged pistons package for around the 900 mark. Couple this with a new or good condition (unground) crank and you will have a great bottom end. Mine has acralite pistons CR 8:1 (maybe a bit less due to sitech headgasket), micropolished crank and farndon H-section rods. I have a stage 2 head with standard cam, this motor should breeze 200bhp, aiming for around 250 once its run in and I can change the cam for a newmans and introduce some boost
