Just wondering if NE1 new how much work was involved in transplanting a 16v 2.0 litre engine into a mk3 Fiesta Xr2i 8v?? Also wot engine wud b best to use 4 easy power?? I was finkin of puttin either an rs2000 lump in or a lump out of a Mondeo, is this possible??

Also wot bits wud i need 4the conversion??

i know its not the same car but theres some1 who livs round the corner wid an escort rs old shape, and hes had a 2.2l zetec turbo put in his and because its a new engine its cost 20k+ wouldnt expect it to be that much with a fiesta though.

 

Andy_RS, , hi mate, my bro bought a 2L mondeo off ebay, really cheap, cos the bottom end went on his xr2i (which was an escort xr3i lump-1.8, 130 bhp), so he swapped the bottom end and and changed all his bits over, fiesta sump, alternator, starter motor etc!! he runs it with the xr3i ecu, which is the same as the rs1800 ecu and it fooking flies-and he's got 16s!!

i've got a straight thru magnex xorst and trust airfilter on my fiesta turbo and there is noithing between us, ever, when we race, and thats pretty much everytime were out!!

get the mondeo lump cos its the same as the XR2i 1800 lunp anyway.

if you can find a 16v fiesta and swap over all the bits your laughing.
i got an 1800i 16v XR2i and can say that they go really well.
raced a couple of turbos (fiesta and S1's) and must say that i gave them a run for there money.
