mate you having a laugh aint ya, washers are more than up to the job, once done up its all compressed so makes no odds at all.
of course you wouldnt fit washers with 15 mm hole on a 10mm bolt, but 10mm washers are fine.
and i wouldnt say it if it wasnt true, trust me, im a engineer by trade dude

Your car is over 220bhp, just curious to know what the feck you have on there at the present, please don't say standard Escos brakes will be perfect and the washers are fine to space things out.

I heard otherwise on Fiestaturbo - there was a bit thread about it all - not being MOT safe? Is this true? TBH i was of the opinion that washers would be ok too, but since its not my field i was not in a decent enough position to pass judgement.

I think i'd fit the washers, and screw in the caliper bolts as tight as possible then bleed the brakes, and then tighten to correct torque.

some people think washers are a bodge, and not safe, i say bollocks, ive got washers on mine and i know for a fact they would be and are safe.
take it from me mate, they will be fine, anyone that says they wont be ask them why..., why 3 washers all packed together is lesser than a solid thicker washer, they wont be able to give a answer apart from its a pain to put 3 washers in when fitting caliper,a nd thats all it is mate.

as for mot safe, thats bollocks too, the caliper dont move so there is nothing unsafe about, that is if the slightly longer bolts were used, but i bet theres a few cars going about running the cossie calipers with them spaced out with to short a bolt.

back to the point though, washers will be fine, im a engineer by trade and i can asure you if a solid bit was safer than washers i would tell you so dude.

Thats good enough for me - the way i see it, new bolts im using mated to new washers will be a shite sight better than the 11 year old rusty bolts that are currently holding them on

Cheers for the advice

no worries mate."
just get some that are long enough, dont go for stainless as there not as strong, if you can get a highest tensile than 8.8, but worst case 8.8 will be ok.

wait for the people to say 8.8 is no good now
