Default can someone tell me what this part is


its on my ofac loomed rst. tried to figure it out but not sure and found a few pics of other peoples cars and couldnt even see it.

btw i've got an escort xr3i with fezzy rst lump etc put in it so bits might be in the wrong place lol

should have been a bit more specific need to know what the grey thing is with the one wire coming out of it. sitting on top of the coil pack.

it is a supressor, takes out ignition noise etc

AFAIK

i was thinking it could possibly be that but werent they only fitted to ofab cars?

right so i know these supressors were fitted to ofab cars to stop interferance from the ht's effecting the map sensor signal. my cars ofac so is it possible that this is having an adverse effect?

were these supressors fitted to xr3i's?

supressors are fitted to most coilpack equipped cars

try unplugging it and see what happens

yeah tried unplugging it and nothing. thinking about it cant really see it having an adverse effect but the cars driving me nuts with the not running right

id look elsewhere then matey

tried the map sensor? checked for air leaks?

no air leaks and not convinced on map sensor yet. ordered one off ebay but it was faulty

idles really poorly intermittantly then holds back now and again. idle speed control valve is ok for poor idle and starting to think ecu is a at fault for holding back and jerking

look at your pipes for cracks or splits mine ticked over like a bag of nails and smoked and wouldnt boost over 5 psi because a small diameter pipe had poped off on the boost guage

all the pipes and that are ok. really puzzling problem not helped by the fact that its intermittant
