CVH or Vetec?
Im looking at getting an XR2I as a track car, but im not sure which engine to go for. Looking locally both seem in good supply.
Which is easiest to tune? i reckon ill only need 150bhp to make it fun tbh, i cant afford an RST so thats out of the questions so its a choice between the CVH and Zetec.
Which will be cheaper and easier to live with? i suppose its cheaper to buy one race cam than it is two?
TIA

zetec or vetec mate?? i would think the zetec unit would be better than the cvh (no replacement for displacement)... however i have seen someone place a vtec engine in a mk2... b16 head (b20 bottom end) and usual mods.. 190-200 bhp in n/a!! oh and the best thing... 8000 rpm!

My old CVH XR2i used to wipe the floor with RS1800's so don't be too hasty to dismiss the old motor.
Saying that for the track I would be inclined to fit a 2.0 Mondeo engine and run it on bike carbs. The engines are cheap and plentifull and give nice power
