FRST compression test, help please
just done a compression test cos my RS is smoking on tickover and startup etc, all four cylinders ran eaxactly the same at 10 bar. c
can any1 tell me what im looking for etc etc or what it should be.

right i feel better knowing my rings or anything havent gone now, keeping an eye out for a nice t3 now, rdy for a conversion.

1 bar is 14.7psi. so 10 bar is 147psi... ish. this is healthy for a turbo engine. i reckon your smoke is cos of worn valve stem seals, they doont cost a lot, only a couple a quid each and you can change em without takin the head off. do that before you spend loads on turbo stuff. little tip- you can remove the plugs and fill up the combustion chamber with lots of string. turn the engine carefully via the bottom pulley till it locks up and you can knock the valve cotters out with a socket and mallet. i've done it to several cvh's and its worked a treat.
