Default St170 head on the 1.8?

Maybe not the right place to ask, but the question is as above.

Will a St170 Head bolt on the old 105ps zetec bottom?

Thinking about the old 1.8 16v 105 unit. And will it make any effect?

Its going to run ITB and a another ECU that can run the VVT. And i know im going to fix some alternative solution to the belt tensioner.

reason for this is my countries laws, Im going to drop a 2.0 in the car, but if i can keep the original 1.8 block, i wont have to pay extra tax.

How come if i may ask?

Since the 1.8 and 2.0 silvertop heads are interchangable, and the 2.0 silver top can fit the st170 head, then surely the 1.8 silvertop should to?

Forgive me, over simplistic reply. Physically it can be done, but without some more involved engineering you're left with no VVT which makes the engine a horrible mess to drive. Its all been discussed before...

Thank you for explaining

I've thought as much. I seen some people delete the VVT wwith aftermarket cams, but i was thinking of using the ME vvt controller.

Ive seen some decent results with that kit, and it enables you to "map" the VVT .

Just cant decideret if i should pay the tax and startout with the 2.0 silvertop.

Would it not be easier and cheaper to just drop in an ST170 lump?

Not a possibility, due to the restrictions in my country . The most legal effect for a motor change is 158 bhp, and that would be about 1000 just in tax/permits.

Sadly enough a 105 bhp zetec would not require any tax, hence why im thinking if it can be tuned enough for meget not bothering the more expensive options.
