I recently replaced the springs on my Ghia Si (Orion shape) with subtle lowering springs. Whilst at it I replaced all the shocks and top mounts for new.
Since then there is a loud clunk from the rear right side when going over bumps etc, loud enough to clearly hear from outside the car when I asked a friend to drive it. It sounds like something is striking something.
I thought maybe a faulty top mount so stripped out and replaced shock, top mount and the metal top cup with brand new spares I had and still the same. I've also checked the assembly of the leg and that seems fine. Can't see any issues with the new spring either.
Having a friend to aggressively bounce the car while I listen inside and out, the clunk sounds like its coming from up where the suspension mounts to the body. (See pic)
Having replaced everything twice and nothing obvious amiss I'm putting out some feelers see if anyone can make a suggestion or shine some light on where to look next.
