hi folks thanks for the invite Chris Greenfield ,got a bit of a dilemma, my fan doesn't cut in, bridged the wires and it runs great so contacted the suppliers for a switch and I was told there is 4 available, yellow? white, Grey, black, but mine is like a red /Brown due to colour fade its a.1.6 zetec has two sensors on the stat housing one near the block for the temp sender, the one on the top and one in the top rad hose so would like to replace all 3 then I know its done, the one near the block is a square plug black body on top of the stat black body black connector, top rad hose blue connecter with red /Brown body

 

Hi there. I've just recently replaced the two thermostat housing sensors on my MK5b 1.6 Zetec, mainly because the temp gauge wasn't working and I didn't know which sensor was which so ordered both. The sender is on the bottom and is a pig to get at and can leak if you don't screw it in all the way. I had to remove the 'stat housing from the block and turn it upside down to get proper purchase on it. I ended up just replacing the 'stat, both sensors and renewing the coolant as I had drained the old stuff anyway. Use threadlock too.

Anyway, my fan is kicking in but not as often as I'd like so I'm on the hunt for this sensor too.
