Speaker Installation
Hello, I have a mk6 escort Mexico.
Bought some new speakers to replace stock ones (6x9 for the rear and 5" for the front doors) having some issues wiring the rear speakers. The stock wiring for the old speakers has a connector rather than two separate wires, is it ok to cut the connection to make two separate wires? Also what is the front door speaker size? (I was an idiot and didn't check before I purchased)

if you buy the correct speaker adaptors for the front doors you can fit 165/170cm speakers no problem, dont recommend 6x9s for rear shelf as side supports are weak and break easy due to weight, again you can buy specific adaptors which fit in original location allowing use of 165/170 speakers and they come with converting leads for wiring plugs
