Sell or Shell????? now with pics
Totally fed up with my Rs 16i not gettin another penny spent on it, shell is abit of mess had more plates in it than resturant dishwasher is it worth all the hassle selling it for spares or as a whole. It is on a dizzy but have the twin coils, ECU, gearbox senser with lead, interior is not good but not bad either, dash is cracked, steering wheel is mint, its been poly bushed all round, new TCA ,new crossmember, wheels are proper 16i with the writing on one spoke only, new blackdimond clutch , new leads(8mm) SS scorpian exhaust, 4 branch manifold, new front shocks, new vibra teknic engine mounts, i could on all nite its just the shell thats doing my head in and it will never be right (apart from bein re shelled) in my eyes, its taxed and MOT. any suggestions would help me guys do i scrap it and sell the bits or let it do my head and keep it???? or how much of a bad heed to reshell would it be???
When i say new new i mean lee than 100 miles
Thanks once again people Andy

hello m8. all depends what the car is worth to you personally . ive had my mk3s a long time so would rather get the welder out than scrap or sell em .
ive done a lot of work on my S1 when ive scrapped better cars but didnt scrap mine as it was mine if you know what i mean .
just finished giving my everyday mk3 xr3i a once over . its sat for about 5 years and i would of scrapped it if i hadnt owned it for the last 13 years . its had new wings , inner wings , front panel , sills , rear arches , inner rear arches , battery tray .
its cost more than its worth so im saying only do it if the car means something to you otherwise scrap it and get one already done .
be a shame though as the 16i is a good looking old car but dont let it become a money pit if your just gonna sell it

hello m8 . i havnt been on the old rs sites for a while , its good talking .
you got a S1 eh ...........well if youve bought a good one then its happy days always makes me smile when i drive mine , not taking anything away from the other sporty mk3s 16i ,xr3 and xr3i as there all great in there own ways .
glad the 16is getting repaired and hasnt been scrapped it cant be any worse than my caspian xr3i was everything on the mk3s can be fixed if you got the time but not value wise .
starting to run out of bits now what i want to sell on e-bay as i gotta keep some spares for my 4 mk3s . theyd be nothing worse than selling all my stuff and then needing something for one of mine
