Default RS1600i exhausts

Hi Guys/ girls!
Camskill exhausts have made a mild steel replica back box of the original 1600i exhaust for £75 & i think its excellent!
Ken Easton from the North Yorksire group has just sent off a centre section of an original RS 1600i system for them to copy as well, this will obviously follow the original system through the rear suspension, For Camskill to copy they want five orders ( they have to buy some Tooling) so if your interested give them a call & see what they have to say!
TEL 01287 635418.
Parts for these cars can only be remade if the people with them show an interest.

If you want a picture of the re-man backbox drop me an e-mail and I will forward it as I do not know how to get them on here. Perhaps someone could post it for me. As Tony said the box is excellent quality , and fitted a treat. Alas I then sold my 16i , doh !!!!

Did anyone manage to get a piccy of this in the end?

Am I right in thinking that if they have made a replica Centre section and Back box then all I need for a complete system is the down pipe?

Reason I ask is cos mine is blowing (yet again) and I think it's time for the boy racer backbox on mine to finally come off, along with the patchwork stainless steel/mild steel middle section that will not stay fused together properly! lol

Yes Claire all you need is the down pipe! there is a pic on The RS board, same title ( i think) just need to wade through all the childishness!!!!!Which i have nothing to do with i cant post a pic on here because the pic i had got deleted.....sorry.centre section was about £150 & backbox about £75, i know of someone that will sell a stainless steel 1600i mongoose system ( centre & back box) for £200 but the rear box has a large tailpipe!

Thanks Tony.

I dunno whats best to do I got a nearly new downpipe earlier this year so I know that part is ok, but what with the cold mornings and her already having a cold start problem I think i've managed to wake up everyone in my street for the last week.

I think what i'll do is replace the whole exhaust (minus downpipe), then try and find a new warm up regulator (thanks to Chris for the part number ) then see how she runs.
The person you know with the Mongoose, is it defo the same as the original (ie up & over rear axle)? And what bore tail pipe does it have? Is it in good condition for that price?

I'm supposed to be booking her in for the respray soon but I think i'll put that off until I can sort out the niggly problems (namely the bloody leak in the boot!!!).

Well done Quickie
Hi Claire Exhaust belongs to graphite 16i (Paul) it is a proper 1600i one( mongoose) goes through the suspension as all 16is should The centre section is @ my house waiting to be removed from the donor car 7 the back box has been removed & is with Paul, i think its a 4 inch tail pipe which is huge! but it is in very good condition.Hes not too bothered about selling, so hes not advertising it, i am though

4" Tail pipe, blimey, that's bigger than the one on mine at the moment I think that'll be a no no to that one then, thanks anyway Tony.

So I guess that only leaves me the option of a pricey mild steel exhaust

Didnt think 4 inches would be too big for you Claire Camskills isnt pricey , very reasonable IMO. there are new stainless alternatives but they are pricey.
