Mk6 Rs2k Problems
Now then folks
I'm after some advice.
I have a MK6 2wd RS2000 with 76000 mile and FSH.
The gearbox pack up over christmas and me and a mate change the clutch gear box, lambda probes front wheel bearings and wish bones while it was off the road. However since then its had a bit of a miss fire and has been using a fair bit of petrol.
I started it this morning to go to work and the mis fire was more prominant than usuual but disappeared when i got about a 100 yards down the road, i drove it home tonigh no probs, stopped at a red light and it started mis firing, (it sounded like a WRX impreza!!!), i drove it the rest of the way to my garage very gingerly, and popped the bonnet, it seemed like there was water (or petrol) coming from the surface between the exhaust manifold and no. 2 cylinder, and it was sounding rough, then it started chucking lots of white/grey smoke out the exhaust.
Anyone got any ideas?
chris

its chucking out whits smoke and the header tank stinks of oil and petrol, and the oil on the filler cap is starting to get that nasty yellowy creamy texture.
Think its the head gasket mate, i put it on ebay as spares or repar this morning, ick its had Ł1500 out of me since christmas.

You sure you put the lambda's back on the same way as they came off?? heard of similar problems in the past after people have replaced these and its cuase they've put them back on the wrong way round. The could explain the overfuelling and the misfires, doesn't explain the header tank/oil filler symptons they do point to h gasket. I'd def be tempted to swap the lambda's round as it only takes 5 mins to see if it makes any difference.
