zetec into rs1600i
Hello everyone.
Tonight while bored and surfing I found the PF magazine site which lead me here. About 10 years ago I was featured in pf for a zetec conversion I did on my rsi. It was one of many I did in loads of different cars but at the time the conversion was unique and made the cover. I have just read loads of posts from people who are still doing it now. Wow.
So the question is, which is best, your original cvh, kent, pinto etc keeping it as henry intended, or the superior zetec stuff? at the time I got a lot of flak for 'spoiling' an rsi...

I Just about remember that 16i, must've been a good few years ago now.
Attitudes are starting to change for modding RSi's imo, everyone seems to be doing it, from engines to bodykits there are always enough concours examples to keep the buftys happy

One other thought lads.. Seems like a lot of todays modding, especially on expensive jap stuff, is all about how much cash you paid somone ELSE to do the work for you, what size hard drive your dash mounted xbox has and how big your rims are (no matter what negative effect 20 inch rims have on what was a close ratio box)
The rsi was built only with touring car in mind (german) and is why they were and are great cars to drive. They were re-worked extensively with the sole purpose of winning. Whether they won or not, you knew you were driving something very special. Unfortunately cars these days are built in vast quantities for the masses and you or me arn't gonna find anything this special again unless we can afford something like an alfa romeo 8c...
Now jutst dont get me started on corsa 1.0 litres with 20 inch wheels and 10 inch tail tail pipes that live in second gear!!!!!

I think you could say that about most of the 80s hot hatches etc, look at how much spec they had in those days wereas these days theyre just the same eurobox from the base model up they just have tacky add ons
Okay you do get some special models but you pay a hefty price.
