I looked into this and decided to go with the Bilt and Hammer clay bar... 200g for about £12 and you only need to use water for lube...

Good tip, bargain if its buy one get one free

Just checked that site and the get one free can be something different, like a litre of high glass polish or whatever, so even better if you just want the 1 clay bar.

iirc the megs kit at halfords is £25 but if buy 1 get one free happy days. I had good results with megs clay/lube kit , ive also got gloss it mild clay and just recieved soft n meduim bilt hamber , as said use only with water no extra lubes needed , i havent tried it yet tho and ive gone for this as the gloss it clay seems to become very sticky n falls apart quite a bit i found , still a good bar tho . If using heavy abrassive clays meduim and upwards the difference is that you can marr the paint easily and may need a good polish or even a machine polish to get rid of them

i got both BH clays delivered £23.95 200g+200g

i am using an autoglym kit atm, clay is good, but it needs to be needed very regular, otherwise it breaks up, does work well though.
i think its softer than the meg's bar.

I bought the meg's one from halfords after it being mentioned on this thread.

WELL impressed, clayed the bonnet of my daily driver as it had got splattered with angle grinder dust when I was modifying some calipers on another car to it was in a right state.
Its really impressive how much its taken it off, should have taken some before and after pics I guess really but forgot!

Proper bargain when getting 2 for the price of one I reckon

Cheaper than getting two packs of 2 for 25 quid, including a couple of decent cloths and speed detailer etc?

I thought that was really good value TBH when it was 2 for the price of one

when the deal ends just buy clay refill and use water and shampoo mix in a spray bottle as lube, save paying a tenner a time for quick detailer

I used about 1/6th of 1 clay to do the bonnet and thats by far the worst panel im ever likely to do TBH, I reckon half a bar would do the whole car very well, and I have 2 bars in each of the 2 packs, so enough to do about 8 cars, which will probably last me about 5 years, lol
