A trained eye can always tell if a car has had work.

On another note, you can only buy originality. Very difficult to replicate and pull it off

if your have a trained eye...

Most concourse enternats will know and some will even acknowledge that certain show winners are prepared to a higher standard than we the can, let say rolled of the production line

A concourse original car is a different beast IMO

yes they can

concours is split into origonal and modified usually, both can have body work done to them, dont see anything wrong with that

i wasnt talking about the RSOC, just a general overveiw

and guessing by if hes worried about welding i dont think hes going for a working class veichle, but yes they do have that class, (which i think is better as its not just trailor whores, they are actually used like they should be. i do respect the effort of the mostly undriven ones though, must take alot of work to get them into that condition and not to mention the amount of cash)

This car HAS NOT been welded at all and is the 2009 intermediate cosworth GOLD cup winner
https://passionford.com/forum/restor...er-2009-a.html
As said if your in the trade or really know your stuff YOU can spot a lemon thats been welded

please don't get me wrong tho there are some very mint cars that have been welded/ repaired to a high standard but arches are a pig to do right as is getting panel gaps to look good and on something from the 70's and early 80's is very difficult

Precisely why I tend to not do concourse work now
Drove me mad for years
As I said though, if someone who knows their stuff does the job right, you'll not be able to see what they've done without paint removal

Cracking car in your link BTW
