Need to know a decent product or solution to bring the outer rim of my split rims up?? don't want to use wonder wheels as it says no to un-lacquered wheels.

Autosol is quite abrasive, ie you'll always see lines in where you've polished if you look closely. Try something like BelgomAlu with a very soft polishing cloth ie dont use a microfibre cloth on polished alloy.

Yeah as you've said, the AG polish aint as harsh....you'll notice this as soon as you use it tbh. But I never got on with the AG one for some reason.

Here's a real good website for anything wheel related....its very VW/euro based but dont let that put you off I even found some pics of my car on there after a google search led me to the site whilst I was trying to hunt down parts for my E50 rims.

To clean them safely, Gloss It Signature Wheel Gel offers incredible cleaning power, yet is pH neutral and safe for all surfaces. If bonded dust persists, it is sometimes necessary to step up to a weak acid solution, which will stain the rim, but this can then be polished out easily enough. For polishing, great advice above about being cautious in your approach. Our favoured products for this reason are Meguiars NXT Metal Polysh, Raceglaze Alutech and more recently, the Brillaitn range of polishes, which will soon be in stock. Finally, once they are back up to standard, be proactive and protect them - a cost of Blackfire All metal Seaalnt will provide bombproof protection for up to 4 months at a time, meaning only washing and drying will be required to keep them looking spot on.

I had proper baked on brake dust on my Image split rims after coming back from the Nurburgring last year and I bought some Rimwax after seeing it advertised in Evo mag and its brilliant stuff, think I paid about £14 for a tub of it. I expect its something similar to Autosol but I picked the Rimwax because it said that it would protect the rim for ages before needing doing again which it has, altho its due another light going over now after the last trackday.

Don't you find Autosol alittle HARSH on the rim though?? cus it has like a gritty texture doesn't it?? and that's why with my lip being polished i'd be alittle woried about using it??
