Default best stuff for new paint on a car..?

hi all..
recently had my car re sprayed its a magenta saff cosworth and am looking to get some new cleaning / polishing equipment to use without my usuall scratching it with shitty sponges and bottles of mer from the market... i used the meguires polish on it before the new paint and always looked nice but after spending a fortune on new paint wondered what to use for the best results.. ive looked on a few sites from links off here but am baffled by the tonnes of different stages that people use and wondered if someone could simplify it a bit .. just want clean and as shiney as poss that will last..

any help would be great and links to products that are easy to find and understand by someone (me) who is shit with computors...
thanks
jay

Lol, it can be a bit of minefield out there these days... so many products to choose from! If you can answer the following questions, I'd be happy to give you a few ideas for a decent routine to get the best out of your new finish. First question is, was the new paint baked (either in an oven) or chemically cured, or will it be left to cure naturally (if the latter, how long since it was painted)? Second question, are you 100% happy with the finish, or can you see some signs of marring or swirls in the finish (from the machine polishing after painting)? Final question; I presume it's a metallic or pearlescent finish?

Hi thanks for getting back . It was baked in oven when done and was a few months ago as been building it back up . I'm very happy with the Finnish few light swirls but they being machine polished properly this weekend I just want it kept nice once the niggly bits are finnished .
Cheers

Cool, in that case, here is the optimal routine and products we recommend for use on mid-tone metallic/pearlescent colours to give you greater colour intensity and maximum gloss (assuming all work is to be done by hand in the future)...

Wash (ideally every week)

Advanced Car Wash Kit - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...-kit-wash.html (choosing the Blackfire shampoo)

Decontaminate (once or twice a year, spring and autumn are the best times)

Step 1 - Autosmart Tardis & Accessories (to remove tar spots, tree sap, etc) - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...dis-clean.html

Step 2 - Meguiars Quik Clay Kit (to remove industrial fallout, soot, etc) - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...kit-clean.html

Polish (after claying, thus done once or twice a year)

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...sh-polish.html
Lake Country German CCS Polishing Pad - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ds-polish.html
Poorboys Super Thick & Plush Towels - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...el-polish.html

Protect (apply a fresh coat at least every 3 months)

Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...n-protect.html
Blackfire Ultimate LSP Applicator Pad - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...d-protect.html
Luxury Deep Pile Buffing Towel - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...l-protect.html

Here are some pictures showing the finish the above products/routine gives on a mid-tone metallic red finish, in order to give you some idea in advance...

ELBOW Grease mate ... Wash it with washing up liquid (Cheap stuff does) Then Polish it with Auto-Smart New Image clean Clear WAX.

You know when it's clean when the water just sheet's off the paint.
