Steam cleaning seats
I have steam cleaned seat before with good results but it takes a long time to dry.Luckily I did them when it was summer time.Another good way if you dont have access to a proper machine is to take the covers completely off and put them in the washing machine.Mine came out like brand new
.Its a peice of piss, just remember to take ALL the rods out.I left one in ripping the seal on the washer door and it blew up
.
My mate has got a steam cleaner and a hoover which sucks up all the shit too!
My seat covers dont come off and they are half leather too, i dont fancie putting it in the washing machine!
What the hell is a George?

It very much depends what materials you intend to steam clean. I had a customer bring a car to me a couple of years ago now (vauxhall omega from memory) who had botched an attempt at steam cleaning the upholstery. What had happened was the sheer heat of the steam had in effect flattened the nylon fibre down on the velour upholstery, almost making it look bald in places, if you can imagine the velour is millions of upright short nylon fibres, and in big patches they had become horizontal to the base material.
Needless to say, by that point the damage had been done, and there was nowt i could do to resurect the trim.
You'd be better of with a decent interior cleaner and a good wet/dry vac. Take your time, dont overwet the cloth, or scrub too hard (cos that can damage the fibres as well), and dry naturally, you should be ok mate.

Erm,apologises I didn't know you had half leather so no i wouldn't dream of going near it with a steam cleaner. The ones I did were cloth Recaros, and the(cloth) trim what went in the wash was heavily stained from a leaking sunroof.I think the cleaner we used to have was a kew one but its more than likely to be obsolete now.Same thing as George but older and square. If George is Henrys brother they should be pretty good
