Default concours Question?

I have stripped the underside of my car ready to paint and stuff (rs2000 Mk6) and am wondering what to coat the aluminium exhaust heat shields with? They have cleaned up quite nicely and i would like to keep them that way. I fear that laquer would not cope with the heat from the exhaust. What can you suggest? P.S it needs to be resonably cheap to do.
