Since deleting norton 2005 off my system when sending/recieving files over msn messenger it fails because i havent selected a virus scanner to scan the files, so would AVG do this?

Also which(if i can use AVG as a scanner) one of these should i select?

use the top avg.exe file to running the virus checker

 

well if you notice its got exe file in the box already so i must have got it right then

 

You can send files without a virus scanner. Usually it's a firewall issue.

 

yeah i know but id rather have it scan files just to be on the safe side

 

I just looked in mine, and I don't have that field ticked, so nothing scans the files I recieve

Should I set it to scan with AVG? I only accept files from people I know anyway, but is there any chance I could get a rouge file sent to me from someone I don't know, even if I don't click the accept button?

 

Dont think you can recieve anything without your knowledge?

 

Neither do I, but you hear stories about these MSN virus that you get sent without accepting etc...
