im after a adsl firewall router for bt broadband 2 meg connection

can anybody recomend a model type to get ???

ive been told netgear are good systems but WHICH MODEL

doesnt need to be wireless and not reallythat bothered about the price

just want a good one "if only all life was that easy"

ANY IDEAS ???????????

 

Netgear are good.

Had the DG834GT on 1mb Bt Broadband and it was faultless for both ethernet and wireless.

now running a WGT624 on 10mb NTL Connection and again, this is faultless.

ive got no use for wireless really

just a good fire wall for a adsl 2meg connection

just need a good router ive had 3254 hits on my zonealarm in only 20

hours pc use

 

834GT is a ADSL Modem router - Will work with BT Broadband

WGT624 is a Router - Will also work with BT but has to have the modem connected to it (I think)

834 comes with hardware firewall and I never had problems with it. Protected both laptops on wireless easily.

Why bin Zonealam and if so, replace it with what?

 

Either with a hardware firewall (built in to ADSL Modem/Router) or a good software one.

I used to use Kerio Personal Firewall as a software one until I moved to the router.

my bt 2meg adsl has a modem the round silver box with green lights

2 one the front

but my builder of the pc uses cable


thats why i was asking which is the best FOR ADSL as he dont use it

There was one ethernet cable supplied with mine.

 

Because a free peice of software won't give you the best protection you need if your a heavy downloader. Now, just browsing the net, you should pretty much be fine with XP's built in one.
