Default screen saver probs, please help

just got ma new pc setup and i cant get the scrrensaver to work for love nor money

it all works fine in preview mode but when its left for its timeout (ie 1min) it wont work. it also wont turn the monitor off after a specified time set within the power settings.

i cant find any progs running that would disable it.

it XP media center

please help

Doesn't appear to be anything on Microsoft's website regarding this issue. What screen saver are you trying to use ?

Don't bother then, lol, if you're going to be away for a bit, just switch the monitor off.

Other then that, uninstall the windows media centre screen savers. I've not used the media centre, but I assume it's under control panel, then add/remove programs, then add/remove windows componants.

try using a standard keyboard and mouse and see if the screen saver works.

Reason for this is that there seems to be a bug with the software when using a wireles keyboard and mouse. Apparently they keep on telling the computer that they are active and so the screen saver wont kick in.
