Default Wireless HP Printer Wooes

Hi guys.
The wife's printer only prints now when the USB cable is connected to both our computers and wont do it wirelessly any more. When running queries etc it comes up with things like mac address issue and the computer not seeing the printer wirelessly. It is a HP C4780 printer. The printers blue wireless light is on which surely means it's wireless is on????

Many thanks in advance chaps :

Had this with a Kodak one, had to manually input all the info into the printer etc ... Also update the firmware on the printer helped..

Had the same problem with my Colour HP printer, Dont take any notice of the wireless light it lies . Literally threw it in the bin & purchased a Pro end Brother & all the problems disappeared.

I've had this before with my HP printer. Go into control panel and uninstall the printer, and uninstall all HP software.

Then re-install the software and the printer etc etc with the installation cd, then go in to the program and check for updates. There was an update that sorted it for me, not had a problem since.

Thanks for all the replies guys. The updates (firmware, and software) idea seems to be the next step as we have tried un-installing an re-installing it twice. If these don't work then Rod's plan of action seems best , or stay old fashioned with the wire for a bit till she gives up lol
